A few weeks ago a college friend and sorority sister asked if I would be interested in photographing her in a beautiful red dress as part of the Traveling Red Dress project, an idea sparked by The Bloggess. If you haven’t heard of the project, you find can out more HERE. I was super excited to photograph my friend, because well, she’s my friend and lifelong sister! We haven’t seen each other in a few years, and usually only catch up through Facebook or at college reunions, but once a sister, always a sister is my motto. My college friends and sorority sisters (go Tri Sigma), still mean the world to me even though we’re all spread across the world living our own lives. However, at one point in time, our lives revolved around each other and very similar activities, and those memories and special bonds last a lifetime. Anyway, back to the Red Dress … Kristin, who lives in Roanoke, traveled to Lynchburg for the afternoon for our photo session. I hooked her up with a great makeup artist and hair stylist, Lindsay Benoit, of Creative Designs by Lindsay at Artistic Design in Forest, to get pampered and beautified first. Then time to put on the Red Dress and play model for the afternoon. I loved showing Kristin and her real sister, Kelly, who accompanied her, around Lynchburg, while scoping out spots for our shoot. Kristin, nervous at first, soon got the hang of the poses I requested of her and found the session fun. We laughed and caught up with each other just as if we had seen each other a few days ago. So now on to the photos 🙂 Here are a few pictures from the day, from start to finish, of Kristin S. and the Traveling Red Dress. Hope you enjoy!
