Virginia Wedding Photographer Features Destination Mountain Wedding
I am thrilled to be featuring a destination mountain wedding on the blog today! Alanna and Justin recently married at Grayson Highlands State Park in Virginia, close to the North Carolina line.
The couple met a few years ago while both serving as missionaries in different parts of Africa. Alanna was serving in Uganda, and Justin had been in the South Sudan. The Sudanese civil war caused Justin to be moved. He ended up serving on a few different teams in Kenya, Uganda and Ireland. Uganda is where Justin and Alanna first met in 2014, however, even though the two struck up a friendship, they never dated until June 2016. They remained dating long distance. Justin proposed in December 2016 when the two met up in the States to visit family and friends during the holidays. As a child, Alanna grew up camping at Grayson Highlands State Park. So, the two chose the location as their central wedding venue since friends and family would be traveling to celebrate with them.
Their day was so perfect. The day reflected decor and music from the countries close to their hearts. They even live streamed the ceremony to friends currently in the missionary field. Beautiful florals, stunning mountain views and rolling green hills all set a gorgeous stage for Justin and Alanna’s destination mountain wedding day. I was blessed to be chosen as their wedding photographer and document their wedding weekend. Here are just a handful of my favorite images from their Grayson Highlands State Park destination wedding.
