So just yesterday I got to spend the entire day with Justin and Mary learning and being inspired by them. This couple is a pretty big deal in the photography world. I have admired Justin and Mary’s work for a while now, and when I found out they were going to be holding a workshop just one hour from me, I had to sign up. I knew I would see them at the Pursuit 31 Conference that I’m attending later this month, but I just could not pass up this opportunity to work in a small group format with them for 12 straight hours! Plus, bonus! the workshop was being held at the beautiful Veritas Vineyards in Afton. Amazing! I believe that you are never so good in your craft that you cannot learn from others. I am constantly learning, and tweaking, and perfecting my passion and my business. I must always be on my toes so that I can offer my very best to my clients. And Justin and Mary’s workshop definitely helped me grow stronger in my field. I learned some new posing techniques, was encouraged to play with shadows and highlights, and given some off camera flash pointers. And most importantly, I was pushed to define my “Why.” I was given the opportunity to remember why it is that I love this profession, and what it is that I want to provide for my wedding clients. I came away from the workshop feeling renewed and inspired and I cannot wait to put to use the tips and reminders Justin and Mary gave me in my upcoming Fall weddings.
